Math Ed. courses for elementary, pre-service & K-8 teachers: offered at discounted rate!
Both MHE450 and MHE501 will be offered during the summer 2010 term at the reduced tuition rate of $340.00 per semester hour. MHE450 and MHE501 are each 3 semester hour graduate courses that pre-service and elementary teachers find useful in developing and improving their mathematics proficiency. Each course can be used to eliminate a general education mathematics deficiency and also may be used for a math endorsement.
MHE450 | Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers
content course that addresses the concepts of a comprehensive elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum through reasoning and problem solving in the areas of patterns, number, geometry, measurement, data and chance. MHE 450 will be on the Wheeling Campus (CRN 60472), Tuesdays & Thursdays, beginning June 29 through August 3, 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Additionally, MHE 450 will be taught at the Chicago campus (CRN 60476) during the August intersession Tuesdays, 8/10, 8/17 & 8/24, Thursdays, 8/12, 8/19 & 8/26 and three Saturdays, 8/14, 8/21 and 8/28.
MHE501 | Topics in Mathematics for Teachers: Number Concepts and Operations in the Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Curriculum
the concepts of number and its operations as they occur in a comprehensive elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum. Reasoning, problem solving, and technology will be used in the areas of geometry, measurement, data and chance. MHE501 is an option for the Middle School Math Endorsement. MHE 501 will be on the Lisle Campus (CRN 60471), Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning June 28 through August 4, 5:00pm to 9:00pm. And on the Chicago campus (CRN 60470), Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning June 28 through August 4, 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

MHE450 will be on the Chicago campus (CRN 90845), Tuesdays, beginning September 14, 5:00pm to 9:00pm. And, on the Lisle campus (CRN 90847), Tuesdays, beginning September 14, 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
MHE501 | Topics in Mathematics for Teachers: Number Concepts and Operations in the Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Curriculum

MHE501 will be on the Lisle campus (CRN 90860) during the fall intersession, Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, beginning November 29 through December 18, 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Mondays, 5:30pm to 9:30pm on Thursdays and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturdays. MHE501 will also be offered on the Wheeling campus (CRN 90848), Saturdays, beginning September 18, 9:00am to 1:00pm each Saturday.
Registration
To register for these courses, please get a graduate registration form at the Registrar's Office or download a form. Complete the form and register at any student services center. If paying by credit card, you may fax your registration to the Registrar at 847.465.4746, beginning May 17, 2010.
