At NLU's University Connection Conference on September 1, 2010, about 465 faculty and staff members and university trustees gathered together at the Art Institute of Chicago to celebrate NLU and its accomplishments and accepted the challenges of the new academic year. President Nivine Megahed's installation ceremony as NLU's 11th president was held in the afternoon that day. read more

On August 6, 2010, National-Louis University was awarded a $160,695 grant through the Landmarks in American History program of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to fund the Chicago’s Lakefront as a Public Place project. Overall, NEH announced $31.5M in grants across 41 states. Eight grants were awarded in Illinois, with five specifically in Chicago.read more

National-Louis University is one of 15 universities slated to work with 1,500 schools across 40 states under this five-year, $45,593,170 Investing in Innovation (i3) grant project awarded on August 5, 2010. Under this project, the participating universities will be able to offer financial support to improve instruction in the lowest-performing schools that opt to implement Reading Recovery, a research-based short-term literacy intervention for the lowest-achieving first graders.read more

Last Thursday night marked a rite of passage for over 60 Latino men and women who participated in the National Latino Education Institute (NLEI) 2009 commencement ceremony. In front of a crowd of over 350 family members, friends and teachers, they crossed the stage and became NLEI graduates, prepared to enter the workforce and make their communities proud. That night, they also learned that NLEI is partnering with National-Louis University (NLU) to help them earn a college degree in the same place they have been studying—and within the same supportive environment.

Four universities which house Chicago's largest elementary teacher preparation programs have received a Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) grant from the U.S. Department of Education to create the Chicago Teacher Pipeline Partnership (CTPP) and develop a pipeline of high-quality teachers for Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
The College of Education at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) will serve as the fiscal agent and lead partner of CTPP, which will team UIC, Loyola University Chicago, National-Louis University (NLU) and Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) with CPS and 20 high-need CPS K-8 elementary schools.

The grant funds an urban teacher residency (UTR) training program that partners NLU and AUSL with Chicago Public Schools (CPS).
